EnergyNewsBreaks – Frontieras North America Signs LOI With Cora Terminal for Multi-Phase FASForm(TM) Deployment in Illinois

Frontieras North America the energy and environmental technology company commercializing FASForm(TM) Solid Carbon Fractionation, announced it has entered into a Letter of Intent (“LOI”) with Cora Terminal, LLC, a joint venture between Watco Companies, LLC and SCH Services, LLC, for phased development of FASForm(TM) production capacity at the Cora Terminal in Rockwood, Illinois. Under the contemplated structure, Frontieras would initially lease approximately 85 acres for a plant designed to process 7,500 tons of coal feedstock per day, with a later expansion to approximately 130 acres for a second plant. At full two-plant buildout, the site would receive approximately 5.5 million net tons of coal feedstock annually and ship products including FASCarbon(TM), ultra-low-sulfur diesel, jet fuel, ammonium sulfate fertilizer, sulfuric acid and naphtha.

The Cora project would be Frontieras’ third announced commercial site, following its $850 million first commercial facility currently under construction in Mason County, West Virginia. Cora Terminal can accommodate up to four unit trains simultaneously, has the capability to move more than 11 million tons of coal annually and owns more than 300 acres of developable land surrounding the terminal. Under the LOI, the parties will pursue site due diligence, engineering, permitting, infrastructure assessment and definitive lease and transportation agreements. The LOI is an expression of mutual intent and is not a binding commitment to proceed, with any definitive agreements subject to due diligence, permitting, financing and required approvals.
